What Lonnie Zamora Reported Seeing
On 24 April 1964, Socorro police officer Lonnie Zamora was pursuing a speeding vehicle when he heard a loud sound and noticed what he initially thought might be an overturned vehicle in a nearby arroyo. Approaching the area, he reported seeing an egg-shaped or oval object on the ground and two figures nearby. He later described a loud roar, a blue-orange flame beneath the object, and a rapid departure from the site. Project Blue Book ultimately classified the case as “unknown” after investigation.
