One reason Rendlesham continues to be debated is that multiple categories of evidence appeared to point in the same direction. Witnesses reported unusual lights. The problem is that these elements were never securely linked into a single evidential sequence. To establish that an unknown object landed, investigators would need to show more than the coexistence of lights and traces. They would need evidence that:
- A specific object was present at a specific location.

Why calibrated sensors and metadata matter
Witnesses observe events through human perception. Sensors record measurements. Those are not equivalent forms of evidence.
